I installed NOA4e from the update URL http://ubion.ion.ag/update/noa4e in the Eclipse that comes with Ubuntu 9.10 32 bit and selected the openoffice directory.

I start a new project, "testme" and then I say Create File|New|Other|OpenOffice.org Dokument für Texte. I select "testme" in Verzeichnis and enter "test as file name". As soon as I click finish I get a Error message "URL seems to be an unsupported one" with Reason "URL seems to be an unsupported one" and empty details.

The eclipse error log view only shows a NOAUIPlugin_message_application_can_not_be_activatedd in ag.ion.noa4e.ui.messages which seems to be unrelated to the exception.

The same applies to spread sheets and presumably other documents.

can anybody help?

thanks

Hi Jochen,
it seems to me that you use the standard openoffice installation provided with ubuntu. Unfortunatelly this will not work as some packages are missing to work with NOA. Just manually install OOo 3.2 and point to its directory. I could reproduce and fix your problem that way.
Also look at this post http://ubion.ion.ag/mainForumFolder/oiep_forum/0013/ as ubuntu uses gnome as default.

Markus
