Im using a Debian Sarge Linux, on Gnome 2.8, OpenOffice 2.0 and eclipse 3.1.0. Thanks

Hello,

a few more questions in order to investigate your problem.  Do you see the OpenOffice.org window in your Eclipse Plattform ? Is your Java Enviroment activated in your OpenOffice.org ? Have you installed all OpenOffice.org RPM´s ?

it doesn't work for gnome try add export SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=kde or export SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen

I think that you have kde desktop for first option -i don't try second option and with kde all is fine
