OO locks up if toolbars are detached

If OO (e.g. Writer) was opened outside NOA and toolbars were detached, it locks up on loading a document via NOA.
We use NOA to embed OpenOffice Writer into our Eclipse application. As long as there is no detached toolbar entry, documents are opened as expected. But if e.g. the standard toolbar is detached, loading the document locks up OpenOffice and NOA. If you close the application, the detached toolbar is displayed sometimes. It seems as if these toolbars cannot be successfully displayed but on the other side OO or NOA waits for the toolbar to open.
